What This Indicator Measures

Daily FOB FARAG jet fuel barge assessment in USD/mt — barges in the Flushing–Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp–Ghent range.

Jet Fuel / Kerosene: A physical price for aviation turbine fuel (jet kerosene). Series differ by loading or delivery area, delivery term and parcel type; each is a separate market.

What the source does not state for this series

  • The source table names this series as “Jet Fuel” and does not print a fuller specification; none is assumed here.

Specification · product family only

  • Jet A-1 is defined by DEF STAN 91-091 / ASTM D1655 (freezing point maximum −47 °C among other limits); the exact grade assessed by each source is not reproduced here.

Basis: FOB FARAG

  • FOB FARAG: the source delivery-basis table lists jet barges as FOB Flushing-Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp-Ghent.
  • FOB (free on board): the price covers the product loaded on the vessel at the named origin; sea freight and insurance to the destination are excluded, so FOB values from different loading areas are not delivered-cost equivalents.
  • Barge-based ARA/AR/FARAG values refer to inland-waterway barge parcels in the Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp area (FARAG adds Flushing and Ghent); they are smaller lots than seagoing cargoes and are not the same market as CIF NWE cargoes.
  • ARA is the Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp port and refining complex on the North Sea, linked by the Rhine to inland Europe; barge values here are inland-waterway parcels.

Unit: USD/mt

  • USD/bbl values (Singapore, Arab Gulf, Fujairah) and USD/mt values (Europe, Japan naphtha) cannot be compared without a product-specific density conversion; the site does not convert them.
  • Published assessments are a low–high range with a midpoint; charts and monthly statistics use the midpoint only.

What This FOB FARAG Price Represents

This page tracks the daily jet fuel on a FOB FARAG basis, quoted in USD/mt. Figures are CommodityScope Indicators synthesized from loaded market editions. They are not a live quote and not a republication of a price-reporting agency table.

How to use this series

  • Track aviation fuel pricing by region; compare with 10 ppm gasoil in the same basis for the jet–diesel differential.

What it is not suitable for

  • Into-plane airport prices, which include throughput and handling fees.

Compare With

Each comparison states why the series are related and whether the latest values can be subtracted directly (same unit, currency and assessment date). Where they cannot, the values are shown side by side without a difference.
